Tell me a bit about yourself Mitch ?
“I moved to the Woodlands area with my wife Kelley 6 years ago and we live with our 2 small dogs Max and Izzy, who we love like our children. I originally trained to be a hypnotist 13 years ago at the Southern Institute of Hypnotism, while I was pilot for Angel Flight at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, AR. After graduation there, I practiced part-time, but it was always a dream to one day have a full time Hypnosis Practice. I found that opportunity in The Woodlands after retiring from my flying career of over 30 years. I feel so fortunate to be able to help people in this special way, as each person’s situation is different. My days are always interesting. ”
What led you into the field of Hypnosis ?
“Many years ago, I went to a theater to watch a show featuring a Hypnotist. His show was very respectful and allowed people to have a good time without embarrassment. As an analytical person, I must admit I was a little skeptical at first and not quite sure what to expect. What I experienced watching the participants that night was truly extraordinary. As I watched the show, I witnessed an observable phenomenon of people changing in astounding ways. I left the show uplifted and intrigued to find out more. ”
How do your experiences prior to becoming a Hypnotist help you?
"As an accident-free Airline Transport Level Helicopter Pilot over a 32 year career, I had the privilege of working in various premier air-medical operations around the country. In that capacity, I took great care in assessing and reacting to the emergency situations I encountered; then acting accurately and concisely with the care of the patient and crew in mind. With my passengers, it was important to me to connect with them on a personal level and assuage any fears or concerns they might have had. I always understood their lives were in my hands and their trust was important to me. I treated every passenger like a member of my own family and to witness their comfort brought a tremendous satisfaction to me. My last posting as a pilot was in Conroe, TX where I often responded to medical calls in The Woodlands area. Who knows, some of you may have been my clients already!'
"My work helping people today as a Hypnotist, involves many of the same elements. People seeking help with bad habits and fears, are often in a place they don’t want to be and need someone who knows how get them quickly and comfortably to the “destination” that benefits them. I take great care, preparing myself through continuing education, to help my clients in their struggle with "everyday" hurts, habits and hang-ups that are limiting them. I have spared no expense creating a World-Class Hypnosis Practice for your benefit in The Woodlands, feel free to use us to regain control of your life today!"
What do you like most about what you do now ?
“I love the fact that every day I can help everyday people from all walks of life overcome their everyday issues and help them create the positive outcomes, of their choosing. People do not come to me by accident, they come to me seeking positive change after other failed attempts. One of the benefits of hypnosis, is that the person remains in control and the results they want, can often begin to happen immediately. To see someone leave my office renewed and ready to live the life they have only dreamed of, is the reason I do what I do. Their success is very much my success. I feel very privileged to be part of their journey to a happier and more fulfilling life. Another aspect of my business I enjoy is providing a place where other world-class hypnotists can practice with clients. I am always on the look-out for Hypnotists’ to join my group. Please contact me if you are interested in training to become a Hypnotist. ”
What is a hypnotist’s role as opposed to a health care professional?
“A Hypnotist is a separate and distinct professional as defined by the Department of Labor. As such our role is not the same as a counselor, psychiatrist or psychologist. These professions are often seen by people who have personal issues which are out of control to the point that they are not able to help themselves. For many people with simple everyday problems, seeing such a professional creates negative connotations such as “broken-ness”. On the other hand, the clients I see have simple everyday issues and know what they want to change and can easily define the goals of that change. When you see a hypnotist there will be no public records and no insurance reporting. At no point are you required to divulge any information you are not comfortable sharing. Confidentiality is key to the trust I have with my clients. Sharing intimate details of one’s past is not necessary for hypnosis to work and is not a barrier to a successful outcome. "
What do you tell someone considering hypnosis ?
“People call me every day, for a free consultation regarding all kinds of everyday hurts, habits, worries and apprehensions. Our conversation together often them a way out of the place they find themselves in, using common-sense language anyone can understand. We then schedule an appointment, work together to identify goals, help them regain control and become the best possible version of themselves. Our conversation often involves a few fun ways that they can see how their mind works in a practical way, to form and hold on to habits.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
“My lovely wife and I are members of the Fellowship Campus of Woodlands Church where I am trained as a Lay Christian Counselor. In my spare time, I have actively worked with people in recovery for over 24 years. Helping everyday people with their hurts, habits, and hang-ups is a natural extension of the work I do in my practice. I love my family life and home, gardening, watercolor portrait painting, writing, reading, playing guitar and singing. I value training for the benefit of my clients and staying on top of the latest techniques in the world of Hypnotism; so I tend to travel and attend various conferences related to my field. I am blessed!"
