When I first decided to try hypnosis I was in the middle of training for the Long Beach Marathon. The training was arduous, I was in a lot of pain as the mileage started to add up and doubt started to creep in. As a Fitness Professional, I had a trainer, a running group and plenty of others to call on for help, yet something was just not clicking for me.
Being a bit of a skeptic due to my lack of knowledge on hypnosis, Mitch at the Hypnosis Group of The Woodlands put me at ease with some basic information of what hypnosis is and what it is not. His professional demeanor and comfortable office was an ideal setting to begin our journey.
After a couple of sessions with Mitch I started to notice a difference in my running enjoyment and I was looking forward to our next visits. Soon I was running stronger than I ever had before, my energy levels were up and so was my confidence!
With just about a month to go before the race I had an old mountain biking injury sideline me in a walking boot. I continued to see Mitch and cross train. When race day came I had no doubt in my mind that I was going to finish. I practiced the techniques Mitch taught me during the run and ended up having a personal best that day!
I am now training for my first Ironman Triathlon and continue to use the tools I learned at The Hypnosis Group of The Woodlands.
